I'm not wrong, Gator Faithful!

The last two weeks I've been asserting to anyone who asks that the Gators do not need Tim Tebow to win this weekend against LSU.  I still don't think I'm wrong.  I don't care about LSU's 32-game winning streak at home in night games.  I don't care about the Gators 10-year losing streak against the SEC West.  Whatever LSU is bringing to the party on Saturday night, the Gators will have more.  More always trumps something.  Let's talk some football...

It seems like yesterday, Gator Faithful!

It really doesn't seem that long ago when Tennessee hired their new coach, Lane Kiffin, to replace Phil Fulmer.  (I really did hate to see Phil go away.  He was really good to the Gator Nation.)  It didn't  take long for the new Volunteer coach to insult the current Gator coach and even the former Gator Head Ball Coach (I bet Ron Zook is feeling left out ).  All of this was before Kiffin even coached one game at UT and was mostly predicated on stealing all-star wide receiver, Nu'keese Richardson from the Gators.  At least Spurrier had the decency to roll over the SEC competition twice before taking a few zingers at his opposition.  You just gotta love the SEC.  Let's talk some football...

More time for the backups, Gator Nation!

The Troy Trojans come to the Swamp this weekend in what should likely prove a small step up for the Gators this week.  We finally got the season underway and I think we all can say that the anticipation was becoming more than we could bear.  So it's good that we have the first game under our belt and are primed for our players to become more in sync this week.  Troy has proven to be a handful to Top 25 teams in the past, but I'm thinking we probably still win this game easily.  Let's talk some football...

The Big South is in the Swamp, Gator Fanatics!

Charleston Southern is getting a big payday to come to the Swamp and we get to see what the 2009 Gator football team looks like.  I won't beat around the bush.  We will win this game.  How we win this game is what everyone wants to see.  If we don't score enough points in the first quarter will everyone be disappointed?  If ChasSo scores more than they should will everyone say the defense is soft?  All this and more coming to us live on Saturday.  You have to love football season.  Let's talk some football...

This one will be fairly short.  Our defense was good and solid last year, but they weren't great like the 2006 team.  I used the word "opportunistic" quite a bit last year and that was evident all season long.  We established a team record for interceptions...and probably punts blocked as well (though I got lazy and didn't look that up).  The defense will be key this year to whether we go down in history or are just another good Gator football team.  Let's talk some football...
